Lately it seems that having drone video for your business is the best thing to do. It’s a cool new tech that’s easy to get into, but is it really helping? As we’ve talked about before, every aspect of a video needs to have a purpose that adds to the content. When it comes to drone video, it gives a cool perspective on things, but it isn’t always beneficial. If you’re a financial firm, showing drone video of a nondescript office building isn’t going to elevate your message; it’s just going to make your video be longer and less engaging. However, if you’re a college, having drone video of your beautiful campus would make sense.
Bottom line: Drone video is a great tool, but make sure it’s benefiting your content, not hindering it.
